The Quenast Quarry is approximately 45 minutes from Brussels. Transport to and from Brussels and Personal Protection Equipment will be provided. This satellite event is kindly hosted by HeidelbergCement, the world’s biggest aggregates producer. This Green Week satellite event is a unique opportunity to learn more about biodiversity and nature which thrive in quarries and pits.
The tour starts with a presentation of HeidelbergCement (our host) and their essential products. Birdlife International and a biodiversity expert continue the guided tour by explaining more about biodiversity, why it is important and why quarries provide unique habitats which allow biodiversity to thrive.
